The Effects of Using Learning Activities Plans in the Concept of Experiential Learning emphasizing in Activity Based for developing Technological Competency in Learning Management for Teachers in Non-Formal and Informal Education Center

Abstract

The purposes of this study were 1) to create a learning activity plan based on the experiential learning concept that emphasizes the activity as a base for developing the competency of using technology in organizing the learning process of the teachers in Non-formal and Informal Education (NFE) Center, 2) to compare the technological competency in learning management of the teachers in NFE center before and after implementing the learning activity plans, and lastly, 3) to study the attitudes toward the use of technology in learning management for teachers in NFE center. The target group consisted of 12 volunteers of full time Non-formal education and Informal education teachers in Sathon district and Khlong San district.  The research instruments included 1) the learning activity plans developing on the concept of experiential learning emphasizing in activity based for developing the competency of using technology in the learning management, 2) the questionnaires of technological competency to create learning media, 3) the checklist for assessing the teachers’ ability of using technology to create learning materials, and 4) the questionnaires on attitudes toward the use of technological in learning management.  The statistics implemented included mean and standard deviation

The findings were as follows: 1) The learning activity plan based on the experiential learning concept that emphasizes the activity as a base for developing the competency of using technology in organizing the learning process comprised of 5 stages of learning activities: Stimulate, Share, Process, Generalize and Apply.  2) For comparing the pre-test  and the post-test teachers’ scores of the technological competency in learning management, the average of the post-test score (Mean = 78.58, S.D. = 8.64) was higher than the average of the pre-test score (Mean = 68.67, S.D. = 10.29), at the rate of  
 = +9.91. 3)  The overall teachers’ attitude towards the use of technology in learning management was at a high level.
