The Result of Using Sim Geography Board Game Integrated with Game Base Learning Approach to Develop the Geography Holistic Thinking in The Physical Geography Course (SS2203101) for the First Year Student

This research aimed to invent Sim Geography board game for learning material. to compare the geography holistic thinking before and after learning. to compare the students’ achievement before and after learning, and to study the students’ satisfaction. The participants were 60 first year social studies major students who enrolled the first semester academic year 2021 in SS2203101 Physical Geography Course by purposive sampling. The Instrument used was lesson plan, the geography holistic thinking test, the learning achievement test, and the students’ satisfaction questionnaire. The statistical devices were mean, standard deviation and t-test.
The results were found as follows:
1. Sim Geography board game had about the relationship among topography, weather, and natural disaster with human location on the earth.
2. After learning with game-based learning, the students had geography holistic thinking higher than before learning at 0.05 level of statistical significance.
3. Learning with game-based learning aspect, the students had geography holistic thinking higher than normal learning at 0.05 level of statistical significance.
4. After learning with game-based learning, the students had the learning achievement higher than before learning at 0.05 level of statistical significance.
5. The Overall of the level of student’s satisfaction with the learning with game-based learning was at the highest level.
