Abstract

Being Mortal  is a book that reflects the truth of life that everyone must walk until the end of their life. Every chapter of the journey of birth, aging, illness and death is something that no one can escape. Medical science plays a crucial role in the treatment, care and prevention of health. Many times, science can overcome nature and many times, science cannot overcome nature. Of course, medical advances play a role in maintaining health, sometimes beyond what is reasonable. Attempts to prolong treatment sometimes do not benefit patients. It is very important to allow all conditions of life to have a chance of having a good life. Even in times of palliative illness, patients still have the right to have a well being. Understanding the reality of life, living life without being careless. Opening up spaces for patients and doctors to listen to their voices is an important part of performing life and death duties with human dignity.
