Abstract

Development of Students’ characteristics according to Kasetsart University Identity Scale for Undergraduate students at Kasetsart University

The purpose of this research were; 1) to construct the students’ characteristics according to Kasetsart University identity Scale ; 2) to validate the Scale; 3) to establish grade norms of the Scale; 4) to construct the manual of the Scale. Research sample of Scale validation and norms construction consisted of 392 undergraduate students who studied at Kasetsart University in first semester, academic year 2015. The developed Scale comprised of 60 items with 5 point rating scales ranging from most much middle little and least

The research findings were; The results of the students’ characteristics according to Kasetsart University identity Scale from 4 model include integrity, determination, knowledge creation, and unity, 1) The content validity of Scale, investigated by calculating the item objective congruence Index (IOC), were in the range of 0.57 – 1.00. The item discrimination index were in range of 0.22 – 0.60. were fit to the empirical data; X2 = 128.25, 103.98, 111.89 and 85.12 respectively, df = 76, 64, 70 and 68 respectivel, Standardized RMR = 0.049, 0.049, 0.042 and 0.049 respectively, RMSEA = 0.049, 0.049, 0.043 and 0.027 respectively, GFI = 0.95, 0.95, 0.95 and 0.96 respectively and AGFI = 0.91, 0.91, 0.92 and 0.96 respectively; 2) Cronbach’s alpha reliability coefficient for integrity, determination, knowledge creation, and unity was 0.71 0.85 0.85 and 0.75 respectively; 3) The school norms for the students’ characteristics according to Kasetsart University identity test score interpretation presented in the form of normalized T-score for the whole test were in range T1-T78 for 2nd year students, in range T7-T74 for 3rd year students and in range T7-T69 for 4th year students and the meaning of normalized T-score as following; up to T65 is very high, T55 – T64 is high, T45 – T54 is moderate, T35 - T44 is low and less than, or equal to T34 is very low; 4) The manual of the Scale had objectivity, easy to understand and convenient for usability
