Abstract

Knowledge Skills and Attitudes of Procurement Department Personnel in Affiliates of MBK Public Company Limited

The objectives of this research were to (1) study the level of knowledge, skills and attitude of Procurement Department Personnel in Affiliates of MBK Public Company Limited and (2) investigate guidelines for development of knowledge, skills and attitudes for their work development. Population of this research included 58 staffs of Procurement Department and four company administrators. Research instruments were questionnaires and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Data were analyzed by means of descriptive statistics was used for quantitative data analysis and content analysis was for qualitative data analysis.

Data from questionnaire showed that, knowledge, skills and attitude of Procurement Department Personel had knowledge towards import of prochase works ‘low’ level (µ = 2.93, ó =1.70) and in the meantime the level of their own desires to develop the lauguage ‘high’ level (µ = 4.48, ó =0.70) and the skill as open-ended questions by the purchase personnel to write the answers. The authors every comment is 79.31 percent and 20.69 percent for the questions that can not answers. The personnel's attitude needs to have the policy for works as the honesty  and ethics at the high level ( (µ = 4.74, ó =0.44)  If the open-ended questions in the attitude needs   to develop all aspects of 39.13 percent and for development of language is 30.43 percent. Furthermore, by implementing a Focus Group Discussion with  four company administrators resulted guidelines for work development as the followings, (1) promotion of budget allocation for personnel training that suit their needs, (2) setting up learning activities which all procurement staffs will have opportunities to exchange ideas with another business’ procurement staffs and (3) building more relationships with other relevant supportive sections under MBK that can benefit procurement staff development such as a training by resource persons from Finance Business Group to facilitate learning on Credit Term calculation techniques to give best benefit.
