A Study of the Effects of Using Parents' Involvement Packages to Encourage Basic Scientific Skills of Young Children
The purpose of this research was to study the effects of using parents' involvement packages to encourage basic scientific skills of young children. Subjects used in this study were 15 boys and girls ranging in ages between 5 to 6 years old. They were studying in kingdergarten level 2 in the first semester year of 2015 in Ban Khamsametbamrung School by purposive sampling, Buriram Primary Education Service Area Office 3 and their parents were 15 targets. The instruments used in research were parents' involvement packages to encourage basic scientific skills of young children, parents’ test about knowledge of basic scientific skills of young children, Observation Form of parents’ participated with young children doing at home, parents’ satisfaction questionnaire toward the packages. The obtained data was analyzed by mean, standard deviation, and content analysis.
The results of this research showed that the children whose parents use the package had basic scientific skills posttest average score were higher than pretest. Parents had posttest average score about knowledge in the basic scientific skills of young children were higher than pretest as well. Parents were satisfied to these packages.
