Abstract

A Study of Learning Achievement on Biochemistry Learning Unit and Analytical Thinking Abilities of Matthayomsuksa 4 Students by Problem-based Learning with Mind Mapping

This research aimed to 1) Study and compare learning  achievement on Biochemistry Learning Unit of Matthayomsuksa 4 students before and after by Problem-based Learning with Mind mapping, 2) Compare learning achievement on Biochemistry learning Unit of Matthayomsuksa 4 students after Problem-based Learning with Mind mapping with 70% criterion, and 3) Study and compare analytical thinking  abilities of Matthayomsuksa 4 students before and after by Problem-based Learning with Mind mapping. The sample groups used in this research were 15 Matthayomsuksa 4 students. The research tools were Problem-based Learning with Mind mapping lesson plans, achievement test and analytical thinking test. The statistical methods used in analyzing the collected data were percentage , mean, standard deviation and t-test.

The present study found that :

1) Learning achievement on Biochemistry Learning unit of Matthayomsuksa 4 students teaching by Problem-based Learning with Mind mapping before learning a mean of 16.47 at 41.17 %.  After learning a mean of 25.93 at 64.83 %. After Problem-based Learning with Mind mapping was a statistical significance higher than before teaching at .05. 2) Learning achievement on Biochemistry Learning Unit of Matthayomsuksa 4 students before and after Problem-based Learning with Mind mapping was a statistical significance not higher than criteria at .05. 3) Learning analytical thinking abilities of Matthayomsuksa 4 students by Problem-based Learning with Mind mapping before learning a mean of 13.07 at 40.67 % . After learning a mean of 17.27 at 57.56 % and after Problem-based Learning with Mind mapping was a statistical significance higher than before teaching at .05.
