Abstract

The Readiness Preparation towards ASEAN Community of Vocational Students in Tourism and Hotel Major in Chiang Rai Vocational College

The purposes of this research were: 1) to study the basic knowledge and understanding of ASEAN community of Chiang Rai Vocational College students in the major of tourism and hotel programs, 2) to study the readiness preparation towards ASEAN community of Chiang Rai Vocational College students.

The research populations were 329 students Chiang Rai Vocational College Students in the major of tourism and hotel program in 2012. The research collecting data instrument was questionnaire that was in 3 pasts. Data were analyzed by using statistical analysis, including Percentage (%), Mean (m), and Standard deviation (S.D.) parts.

The research finding were was found that Chiang Rai Vocational College Students, in the major of tourism and hotel program. They had knowledge and understanding about ASEAN community at high level and the preparation towards ASEAN community in overall was at the high level. When considering each aspect, it was found that the culture readiness towards ASEAN community had the highest mean, rage, which was at the high level. The attitude readiness was in the high level and the general readiness was in the high level while the language readiness had the mean that was at medium level.
