Abstract

The Development of Sex Education Training Curriculum for Parents to Teaching Their Preschool Children

The purposes of this research were to develop and to study the effects of sex education training curriculum for parents to teaching their preschool children. The target groups used in this study were parents, caregivers and individuals involved in child care of children aged 3–6 years who works at Boonthavorn Ceramic Co.,Ltd Rama 2 Samutsakhon province. The target groups were 15 parents by the time taken for 6 weeks. The instruments used in this study were test of knowledge, questionnaire, the record of activities between parents and their preschool children and satisfaction questionnaire in activities. The development of sex education training curriculum for parents to teaching their preschool children comprises the steps of which cooperated among the coordinator of curriculum to the parents and parents to their preschool children. The curriculum consist of purpose, concept, substance, pattern of training, activity set for parents and assessment. The results of this study about sex education training curriculum for parents to teaching their preschool children found that after the curriculum participant parents had more knowledge than before of used curriculum. The parents had commended on sex education and skills to practices of sex education better than before of used curriculum and the parents were satisfied with the activities, co-curricular to a great extent.
