Abstract

The Master of Education Program in Special Education was first provided at Kasetsart University in 2013. The Curriculum Committee evaluated the program using internal management system to follow-up on problems related to students, instructors, and management system and constantly solved the problems.

To evaluate the curriculum, the research team conducted an information management system research project to set standards for future the improvement of curriculum evaluation.

The objectives of the research on evaluation of curriculum management included 4 components: the implementation of curriculum management; the appropriateness of the student selection criteria; the appropriateness and the concordance of student support programs; and graduate quality using both primary and secondary sources during the years 2013-2015. Informants were curriculum committee, instructors, students enroll in the program, the employers of the program graduates and the critique of five experts in the field.

The result revealed that both the program structure and the personnel involved were appropriate in producing qualified graduates in Special Education, relevant to the national needs for equal opportunity of children development. The weak point of the program was the insufficient development of students English language proficiency needed for their future career, the ability to complete their theses within time allotted and the ability to use their knowledge effectively.  The selection criteria was appropriate.  The orientation and study visit programs were the most appropriate and concordant student support programs to students’ needs.

The curriculum committee should encourage the students to continuously study and take parts in and contribute to the leadership and the renown of the Special Education Association via disseminate their innovative knowledge to the world community.
