Grade 6 Students’ Analytical Thinking Skill in Concept of Substance in Daily Life

Abstract

This research aimed to study the grade 6 students’ analytical Thinking in concept of substances in daily life. This study is had to be a guideline to develop teaching and learning plans for enhancing student’s critical thinking skill. Research data has collected with 3 aspects of critical thinking skill; component analysis, correlation analysis, and principles analysis. Research result presented these participants had the highest average score in aspect of correlation analysis. Component analysis and principle analysis were in middle and lowest score respectively. The findings negated that critical thinking skills should be set as the main purpose of teaching and learning Science.
