The Effect of Using Questioning and Graphic Organizers on Analytical Thinking of Preschool Children

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to compare analytical thinking of preschool children before and after using questioning and graphic organizers. The target groups in this study were 6 male and female preschool children, aged between 4-5 years old. They studied at the Kindergarten level 2 in the semester of academic
year 2015 at Baanwadfun Kindergarten. The research instruments used in the study were 28 plans of using questioning and graphic organizers, analytical thinking assessment and observation recording of young children. Mean, Standard deviation and content analysis were used for analyzed data.

The result found that the children who participated in the activities based on questioning and graphic organizers had posttest scores higher than pretest scores including analysis of elements, analysis of relationships and analysis of organizational principles. The result of observation showed that the children had the most analysis of elements. Along with analysis of relationships and analysis of organizational
principles respectively.
