The Effects of Activities Based on Contemplative Education to Develop Self-Determination towards Studying of Undergraded Students

Abstract

The objectives of this research was to  study the effects of activities based on contemplative education to develop self-determination towards studying  of undergraded students,  Faculty of Education Kasetsart University. Participants in this study were 30 undergraded students who enrolled in 01167311 Guidance Class in second semester of year 2016. The participants were random by cluster sampling. The instruments used in this study were the Self-determination towards Studying Test and Students weekly journals.   The findings indicated that students’ self-determination towards studying scores were higher.  Because the activities emphasized the students’ learning based on their study goal settings, their valve in concentration in studying and learn from their role models and their friends’ role models, reflecting their thinking, classroom discussion and exchanging  their learning in the safe zone and positive atmosphere.
