The Study of Mathematics Learning Achievement and Ability in Solving Problems of Mathayomsuksa Two Students on “Variation” by Using Heuristics at Setthabutbamphen School
The purposes of this research were 1) to study mathematics problem solving ability of mathayomsuksa two students on “Variation”by using heuristics at Setthabutbamphen School, 2) to study mathematics learning achievement of mathayomsuksa two students on “Variation” by using heuristics at Setthabutbamphen School. The sample group was one classroom with 50 mathayomsuksa two students at Setthabutbamphen School in the second semester of the academic year 2014 that was selected by cluster random sampling from
14 classrooms. The instrument for this experiment were 9 lesson plans on “Variation” by using heuristics. The instruments in data collection consisted of mathematics learning achievement test on “Variation” and ability evaluation forms in solving mathematics problems on “Variation” by using heuristics. Percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test were used for analyzing data and presented by tables with corresponding descriptions.
The results revealed that the mathematics problem solving ability on “Variation”by using heuristics was average level and students’ mathematics learning achievement on “Variation”by using heuristics after learning was higher than before learning and was higher than 60% at the .05 level of significance.
