ON A NEW MODEL OF CULTURE COURSE INSTRUCTION IN TEACHING CHINESE AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF SPATIAL RESEARCH

The traditional teaching of culture in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language is mainly direct teaching by teachers, lacking attention to students' subjectivity, and the teaching effect is unsatisfactory. In order to improve the quality of teaching in the new situation, there is an urgent need to change the teaching philosophy of culture classes in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and to build a new culture class teaching theory. As the culture classroom in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language is a special kind of learning space, this paper draws on the theoretical results of space research and uses Bourdieu's field theory as a guide to analyse the space of the culture class in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language in depth. The paper argues that the crux of the traditional culture class teaching model lies in the unequal teacher-student relationship in the classroom field. Therefore, adjusting the power relations in the classroom space, creating a public domain in the culture classroom and maintaining the third space in the culture classroom can build a new culture class teaching model and promote the reform and breakthrough of culture class teaching in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language in the new era.
