Abstract

There are a lot of animal words in "Zhuangzi" and "Aesop's Fables". The basic meaning, extended meaning and cultural connotation of the word "horse" are finally analyzed across cultures, so that it can be concluded that animal words in any language are not only symbolic representations of animal images, but also cultural connotations. Therefore, when we conduct cross-cultural communication, we must not only analyze the causes of cultural differences from the aspects of history, culture, religion and language, but also understand their deep cultural connotations and grasp vocabulary through cultural background.
