Chinese opera, represented by Kunqu, is an important vehicle for promoting and spreading Chinese culture and facilitating intercultural exchange and integration. The article uses the comparative analysis method and case study method to trace the origin of Chinese and foreign theater, summarize and review the experience and lessons of the foreign dissemination of Chinese opera, analyze the value and significance of Kunqu, a classic sample of Chinese theater, in the new era of Chinese and foreign cultural exchange, study the cultural gap caused by Chinese opera in the process of intercultural dissemination, and take Kunqu as the study of the cultural gap caused by Chinese opera in the process of intercultural communication, and the discussion of strategies and ways of intercultural communication using Kunqu as a carrier, are of practical guidance for intercultural communication using opera as a carrier.
