RESEARCH ON THE CULTIVATION MODEL OF LACAL CHINESE TEACHERS IN CONFUCIUS INSTITUTES IN WEST AFRICA IN THE POST-COVID-19 ERA

Nativization of teachers, teaching materials and teaching methods is an important guarantee for the sustainable and long-term development of Confucius Institutes. Practice has proved that various nativization elements play different roles in the development of Confucius Institutes. This article studies the local Chinese teachers of the Confucius Institute in West Africa. On the basis of data which obtained by interview and case analysis, this article combines theory with practice to explore the construction of its training system. The article proposes that the training of local Chinese teachers in West Africa in the post-COVID-19 era can be started from three aspects: compiling training materials for local Chinese teachers, systematically training local Chinese teachers and implementing systematic measures to enhance the self-identity of local Chinese teachers, in order to provide effective strategies for the construction of local teachers in Confucius Institutes in West Africa and even Confucius Institutes at a broader level. is an important guarantee for the sustainable and long-term development of Confucius Institutes.
