Main Article Content
Abstract
The purposes of this research were: 1) to develop a MOOC by integrating podcasts based on the self-directed learning concept on nursing care for patients with pacemakers, 2) to compare learners' achievement before and after using the MOOC by integrating podcasts based on the self-directed learning concept on nursing care for patients with pacemakers, and 3) to investigate learners' satisfaction with a MOOC by integrating podcasts based on the self-directed learning concept on nursing care for patients with pacemakers. The sample consisted of 198 nursing students. The research tools includes a lesson plan, a MOOC integrated with podcasts based on the self-directed learning, a learning achievement test, and a satisfaction assessment form. The data were evaluated using descriptive and inferential statistics, including mean, standard deviation, and dependent samples t-test.
The findings of the study revealed that 1) the development of the MOOC by integrating podcasts based on the
self-directed learning concept on nursing care for patients with Pacemakers was of the highest quality (M = 4.81, SD = 0.19) that 2) the learners' learning achievement at the post-test score was significantly higher than the pre-test score at the .01 level, and that 3) the learner satisfaction with a MOOC by integrating podcasts based on the self-directed learning concept on nursing care for patients with pacemakers was at a high level (M = 4.22, SD = 0.76).
