Abstract

As part of the tourism promoted in Chaing Rai province, organized treks often include a Lahu village home-stay. As a result, Lahu homes and everyday life of Lahu has come to represent ethnicity as a commodity in tourism. The representation of tourism in Lahu homestay regulate and control Lahu image to the public such as traditional Lahu, preservative Lahu, and enabling Lahu in tourism management. These images are not connected to the village with ethnicity idea, merely giving the perception of homestay during trekking.
