Guidelines for Conveying Local Wisdom of the Elderly Society: A Case Study of Sangsuk School – the Elderly, Ban tio Sub-district, Lom Sak District, Phetchabun Province

Abstract

           The objectives of this study were to: 1) study the process of transferring local wisdom of the elderly: A case study of Udom Suksa School-Elderly in Tambol BanTio, LomSak District, Phetchabun Province, 2) study and present the local wisdom information of the elderly: A case study of UdomSuksa School-Elderly in Tambol BanTio, LomSak District, Phetchabun Province. Data were collected by using questionnaire from the Elderly in TambolLomSak, Phetchabun Province with the total number of 120 people. The statistics used to analyze data comprised percentage, average and standard deviation.

          The results of the research were found that most of the respondents were female (average: 90.0) with the age between 61 - 65 years (average: 60.8), level of education was primary education (average 73.3). The process of transferring local wisdom wasat a moderate level arranging from the most to least average as follows: environmental aspect, personal aspect, social aspect, institutional aspectand the process of transferring respectively. Different ages, in overall, had different opinion on local wisdom transferin environmental aspect, personal aspect, social aspect, institutional aspect and environmental aspects, while there was not different opinionin transmission process with statistical significance at 0.05 level.
