The Needs Assessment for Developing the Participation in term of Internal Quality Assurance of the Schools under the Office of Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area 3

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study current situation and desirable condition of the internal quality assurance of the schools and 2) study the needs assessment for developing the participation in operating internal quality insurance of the schools under the Office of Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area 3. Population consisted of 172 administrators, 1,272 teachers and 1,518 the school committees. The sample group included 352 school directors, teachers and the school committee under the Office of Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area 3.     The sample size was fixed through Taro Yamane’s formula at the 0.05 error level and selected by using the stratified random sampling method. The research instrument was a five-rating scaled questionnaire with an IOC between 0.67 - 1.00, current conditions reliability at 0.969 and desired conditions at 0.969. The data analysis composed of Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard deviation and PNI Modified index. 

          The research findings revealed that:

1. The study results of current situation, desirable condition and needs assessment of the participation in operating internal quality insurance of the schools under the Office of Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area 3, as a whole, were found at a moderate level; as the desirable condition, in overall, was at the highest level.

        2. The needs assessment (PNI_Modified) for developing the participation in operating in the school internal quality insurance of the schools under the Office of Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area 3 rearranged from the most to the least were as follows: 1) managing the school education development plans, 2) regulating the school education standard, 3) operating as the education development plans, 4) developing the education for quality, 5) evaluating and checking the educational quality in schools, 6) follow-ups and operation and 7) managing self-assessment report.
