Dynamic Information Technology Capability and Organizational Culture to Firm Performance: Concept Paper

Abstract

The implementation of information technology (IT) in organizations is still a concern for executives. They are unsure whether investing in IT will create value, provide a competitive advantage, and lead to better performance. Therefore, it is important to study the impact of dynamic IT capability and organizational culture on organizational performance. There were two objectives for this research paper; 1) to study concepts, theories, and research related to dynamic IT capability, organizational culture, and organizational performance, and 2) to develop a model of the relationship between dynamic IT capability, organizational culture, and organizational performance. From the literature review, the following variables and observable factors were obtained: Perceived Financial Firm Performance and Perceived Market Firm Performance. There were 4 factors from Dynamic IT Capability; IT infrastructure, Human IT resources, Intangible IT resources, and IT configurability. Moreover, there were 4 factors in Organizational Culture; Involvement culture, Consistency culture, Adaptability culture, and Mission culture
