Public Services Affecting the Quality of Life of People in Ban Pet Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province

Abstract

Providing public services is a key responsibility of local administrative organizations in enhancing the quality of life for citizens. The aim is for all target groups to access public services conveniently, comprehensively, and with quality. However, issues still arise in the provision of public services, including services that do not meet the established standards, lack of quality, or services that are inconsistent with the specific needs of the community   or the people's demands. The objective of this research was to study the level of public service delivery, the quality of life of citizens, and the public services that impact the quality of life of people in Ban Pet Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province. The sample group consisted of 397 people living in Ban Pet Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province. The sample size was using Taro Yamane's formula. Data were collected through questionnaires, and statistical methods used for data analysis included percentages, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis.

          The research findings revealed that (1) Public services in Ban Pet Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province, the overall average level was high. When analyzed by category, public services related to infrastructure, promoting quality of life, education and public health, community and social organization, peacekeeping, and investment in resources, environment, and cultural heritage were all rated at a high level across all four dimensions. (2) Quality of life of residents: The overall average level was high. When examined by category, physical health, mental health, social relationships, and environmental factors were all rated at a high level of all four dimensions, and  (3) Public services related to infrastructure, quality of life promotion, education and public health, community and social organization, peacekeeping, and investment in resources, environment, and cultural heritage significantly impacted the quality of life of people in Ban Pet Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province, at a statistical significance level of 0.01. Summary: The residents in the area of Ban Pet Subdistrict Municipality have a high quality of life in all aspects, resulting from the provision of public services across four key areas. This has significantly contributed to maintaining a high level  of quality of life for the residents.
