Thai Creative Thinking in the COVID-19 Era by Using the EDULEARN Web Application

Abstract

This academic journal aimed to investigate the creative thinking of second graders in Thai language learning arrangement for the promotion of creative thinking. Based on the Constructivist Theory, a learning management system that promoted creativity during the Corona virus epidemic in 2019 was designed. Under the platform model "EDULEARN," which includes components such as problems and tasks, the designed learning resources help to facilitate the exchange of knowledge in consultation with an expert. The findings established that the students possessed four types of creative  thinking comprising fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. First, fluency (thinking fluently) was demonstrated by the ability to find answers quickly and in large quantities. It was also observed that the students introduced similar words that could be used interchangeably. Second, flexibility (flexible thinking) was demonstrated by considering answers in a variety of ways. Furthermore, many practices can be adapted to address new challenges. Following that, originality (having a new idea) was demonstrated by using fictional images to write sentences differently. Finally, elaboration (thoughtfulness) was demonstrated by paying close attention to details and understanding how to use more euphemistic words in sentences to make them more complete and evident, as well as creating messages and stories that were inspired by good deeds and written with good intentions.
