The Study of the Implementation of Satit KKU Creative Innovator Model Curriculum for Grade 2 Students

The objectives of this study were to discover how creative the second-graders at Khon Kaen University Demonstration Elementary School (Suksasart) were, how well they performed academically in Thai lessons, and what their attitudes towards Satit KKU Creative Innovator Model curriculum. The research tools included lesson plans for Thai subjects based on the Satit KKU Creative Innovator Model curriculum, a creativity assessment form, a Thai academic achievement test, and a survey of the target group, which included 39 second-graders during the first semester of the academic year 2020. Figures and descriptions were analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative data. The statistics employed in this study contained means, standard deviation (S.D.) and percentage. The research results were presented in both tabular form and described the data in the form of essays. The results showed that
1) For students’ creativity, it was found that students who studied based on the Satit KKU Creative Innovator Model curriculum were creative innovators with the different kinds of creativity, including fluency ( = 5.5 and S.D. = 2.7), flexibility (
= 6.4 and S.D. = 3), originality (
= 6.9 and S.D. = 3), and elaboration (
= 7.3 and S.D. = 3.2), respectively.
2) For students’ learning academic achievement in Thai subjects, 35 students or 89.70 percent, of the total number of students had achieved the passing criteria, which was gaining at least 60 percent of the total scores. And four students, or 10.3 percent of the total number of students, did not pass the school's prescribed criteria. They obtained an average score of 14.39 with S.D. of 2.51.
3) For the students’ attitude towards the Satit KKU Creative Innovator Model curriculum, all opinion aspects were ranked at the highest level, including the learning atmosphere, the learning environment, and the advantages of the implemented curriculum.
