The Needs of the Internal Quality Assurance Operation in Early Childhood Centers under Local Government Organizations, Khon Kaen Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to 1) study the current situation, the desirable conditions of internal quality assurance operation of child development centers under local administrative organizations, Khon Kaen province, 2) study needs for internal quality assurance operation of child development center under local administrative organizations, Khon Kaen province. The sample group consisted of school administrators and teachers, with the total number of 274 people. The sample size was determined by calculating from Taro Yamane formula (Taro Yamane, 1973), using stratified random sampling method. The instrument used in the research was a 5-level rating scale questionnaire with reliability of the entire questionnaire of 0.96. The statistics used to analyze data comprised frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and PNI Modified index. The research results were found that:           1)  The current situation, the desirable conditions of internal quality assurance operation of child development centers under local administrative organizations, Khon Kaen province were found that the current situation, in overall, was rated at a moderate level, the desirable conditions, in overall, were rated at a high level. 2) Needs for internal quality assurance operation of child development centers under local administrative organizations, Khon Kaen province were found that the standard with the highest level of needs was the standard of teachers/child care-takers for organizing learning and playing experiences for early childhood development, followed by early childhood quality standards and early childhood development center management standards, respectively.
