The Relationship between Professional Accounting Skills and Performance Efficiency of Accountants in Khon Kaen Province

Abstract

The objectives of the Relationship between Professional Accounting Skills and Performance Efficiency of Accountants in Khon Kaen Province were 1) to study the professional accounting skills of accounting officer in Khon Kaen Province, 2) to investigate work efficiency of accounting officer in Khon Kaen Province, and 3) to study the relationship between professional accounting skills and work efficiency of accounting officer in Khon Kaen Province. The quantitative research method was chosen. The samples were 317 accounting officers in Khon Kaen Province. The statistics used in the research were frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation and correlation coefficient.

The research found that the professional accounting skills of accounting officers in Khon Kaen Province was at high level (=4.16, S.D.=0.49), intellectual skills were at the highest followed by communication skills, problem-solving skills and teamwork skills, respectively. Besides that, the work efficiency of accounting officer in Khon Kaen province was at high level (=4.17, S.D. = 0.55), work quality was at the highest level followed by work duration and management and work quantity, respectively.

The professional accounting skills were related in the same direction with work efficiency of accounting officer in Khon Kaen province, and the statistically significant was at the .01 level
