Abstract

This research aimed to examine working environment factors affecting the innovative behavior of employees in private organizations within Khon Kaen Municipality. The sample consisted of 400 employees selected through purposive sampling. A questionnaire was used as the research instrument for data collection. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. The results revealed that the three working environment factors—physical, social, and psychological—jointly explained 50.50% of       the variance in employees’ innovative behavior (Adjusted R² = .505), and the overall regression model was statistically significant (F = 136.528, p < .001). Among these factors,  the physical working environment had the strongest influence on innovative behavior at the .01 level of statistical significance, followed by the social and psychological working environments, respectively. The findings indicated that providing an appropriate physical working environment, including adequate workplaces, equipment, and technology; promoting a supportive social working environment through support from colleagues and supervisors, effective communication, and organizational collaboration; and fostering a positive psychological working environment by reducing work pressure, enhancing emotional security, and encouraging intrinsic motivation can promote employees’ initiative, creativity, and application of new ideas in the workplace. Therefore, the comprehensive development of these three dimensions of the working environment can effectively promote the innovative behavior of employees in private organizations within Khon Kaen Municipality.
