Needs Assessment For The Administration Of School As A Learning Community (SLC) In Primary Schools In Bangkok

This research aimed to analyze the current situation and the expected conditions in the administration of School as Learning Community in primary schools in Bangkok and study needs assessment for the adminiatration of School as Learning Community (SLC) in primary schools in Bangkok. Data were collected from 715 stakeholders, consisting of administrators, teachers, and parents of Grade 5-6 students from primary schools in Bangkok. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and a Modified Priority Needs Index (PNImodified)
The results showed the following: 1) the current situation and the expected conditions in the administration of School as Learning Community in primary schools in Bangkok, the overall average was found to be at a high level. When analyzed by specific aspect, it was revealed that the average school administration condition was at a high level; the aspect with the highest average was philosophy 2) The results of the needs assessment found that When classified by item, the greatest need was for schools to provide opportunities for parents to participate in the discussion at the decision-making level on amendments for various problems. Therefore, if a school would like to become a school as a learning community, it should begin by building a solid foundation of vision and philosophy together. Moreover, the school should provide opportunities for parents or stakeholders to become more involved in the decision-making process.
