Abstract

This article is a study on the person-centered counseling of guidance teachers in the 21st century. The authors have studied documents and textbooks on the theory's key concepts, the theory's objectives, counseling process, and techniques used in the person-centered counseling of guidance teachers in the 21st century. The results concluded that person-centered counseling could apply to consult the learners in the 21st century. The purpose of person-centered counseling is to develop the potential of the learners to become happy global citizens, to encourage self-learning, to build and maintain relationships with other people, to learn a variety of cultures, to live a healthy life both in quality physical and mental well-being, to think critically, to face and deal with problems in daily life effectively, to be responsible for oneself and others, and to be a good member of society.
