A Case Study of the Loose Parts Playing Activities Provision for Promoting Sensory and Learning of a Toddler

The purposes of this study were 1) to suitably create the loose parts activity provision guidelines for toddler and 2) to study the toddler’s using of 5 senses and learning. This study was a single case study of an one year-old toddler as a participant, in 2021, who is a child of the researcher. The instruments of this study were 20 lesson plans, which were related to loose parts playing activities to promote toddler’s using 5 senses and learning in the context of subject matters were nature around us and things around us. Collect data by using participant observation, behavioral record, recording photo and videos during loose parts playing. The data were analyzed by using qualitative method to content analysis, typological analysis and narrative.
The result shows that 1) the loose parts playing activities provision guidelines for the toddler included 1.1) there were both outdoor and indoor activities 1.2) the objectives for developing children were set out before creating the activities and the materials 1.3) the materials were suitable for the toddler and easy to find and related to the learning context of subject mattters. 2) the child used five senses in observation, exploration, examination, and experiment through loose parts playing.The child determined her own style to plays and leading to cognitive learning to pay attention to things around us, remembered, used creatively and solved problems. Physical learning in movement and used the organs of the body to coordinate. Social learning to made relationships with people and environment. And emotional learning to expressed emotions happily.
