The Effects of Using Parent Involvement Activity Packages “Try It You Can Do” to Develop Self-Help Skills of Young Children aged 2-3 years

Abstract

The objective of this independent study was to investigate the effects of parent involvement activity package “Try It You Can Do” to develop self-help skills of young children aged 2-3 years. The target group used in this study consisted of 7 preschool children aged between 2 - 3 years who were studying in Baan Satit class in the second semester of 2020 academic year at La-Orutis Demonstration School, Suan Dusit University and 7 parents of the sample of young children. The instruments used in this study included the parent involvement activity package  “Try it You can do” to develop self-help skills of young children aged 2-3 years, Behavioral observation form for self-help skills of young children aged 2-3 years. The quantitative data was analyzed by mean and standard deviation. Qualitative data were analyzed by content analysis and descriptive descriptions.

The results of this study indicated that young children who particlpated in parent Involvement activity package “Try it. You can do it” had higher self-help skills than before. The aspect with the highest mean after the experiment was the hygien, self-feeding, dressing, and toileting, The children had good adaptation in hygiene.
