Keywords:
Professional Learning Community (PLC), Competency-Based Curriculum and Instruction under the IPST guidelines, Lesson StudyAbstract
This study was conducted under the Mathematics Teacher Potential Development Project, collaboration between the IPST and Thepsatri Rajabhat University, to improve the competency of new-generation teachers for 21st-century learning in The Context of Professional Learning Community (PLC) and Lesson Study. The gold of this research was to develop competency-based lesson plan. The objectives of this study were; 1) to assess the level of competency-based lesson plans under the IPST; and 2) to achieve of the competency-based lesson plans under the IPST. The sample consisted of 7 teachers who participated in PLC Process. The data was obtained using two evaluation forms, the content validity of which was verified, yielding an Index of Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) value ranging from 0.80 to 1.00 and a Rater Agreement Index (RAI) of 0.75.
The results showed that 1) the competency-based lesson plans were considered at a good level and 2) the achievement of the competency-based lesson plan under the IPST was rated as high ( = 4.10). Additionally, the new finding resulted from PLC and Lesson Study processes suggested that mathematical analytical skills helped teachers to choose appropriate competencies for the contents.
