An Evaluation of a positive parenting training program for a parent in developing the responsible behavior of a child with ADHD

The research was an evaluation of a positive parenting training program for a selective responsible parent with a child with ADHD, applying the Robert Stake’s Countenance Model. The dimension of evaluation included as follows: (1) appropriability evaluation of training program (2) implementation evaluation of training program, and (3) outcome evaluation of training program. The instruments of empirical data collection refer to assessment dimensions order were as follows: (1) the appropriability assessment of the training program by three qualified persons, (2) the observation report about cooperative behavior of the trainee while participating in the activities, and (3) the trainee's positive parenting knowledge assessment form, and the trainee Semi-structured interview form after one week of training. Analyze data by analyzing three-dimension information and summarizing the value of positive parenting training programs for responsible parents with children with ADHD.
The evaluation results found: 1) the expected training program was suitable for specific problem conditions of this research parent. 2) Taking action of training program. Parent attended training program on time, cooperated program continually, and submitted real situation practice report every section, including attended a discussion for comprehensive checking in every section. 3) After training program, the percentage of trainee's knowledge was 95 (very good level) and the trainee could use the program principles to deal with the child in real situations, and find positive changes in responsible behavior.
