Abstract

The purposes of this article were to study guidelines for developing a learning unit “Agriculture Education in Fun Museum” for the first-year undergraduate students who enrolled in the Languages and Cultures for Teachers course which was in the teaching profession of the Faculty of Education Kasetsart University. The study applied Michael Byram's concept of learning to promote intercultural communicative competence (ICC) by using Metaverse to create a virtual exhibition. The results of the study showed that there were 5 key components according to the concept of learning management which were 1) Knowledge 2) Attitude 3) Skills of discovery and interaction 4) Critical cultural awareness and 5) Skills of interpreting and relating. This concept could be applied as a basic development of a learning unit to promote cultural skills for student teachers. The 5 steps were:1)Preciseing knowledge from the museum to create works; 2) Scrutinizing the identity of various local cultures; 3) Searching for information in preparation for one’s presentation; 4) Deliberating critique of the culture; 5) Interpreting, connecting and developing of one’s own exhibition. This study is therefore a guideline for learning management that encourages teacher students to have the ability to communicate between cultures through being. “Agricultural cultural communicator”. It was also an example of applying the Metaverse to learning management in the next normal.
