The Expectation and Satisfaction of Parents toward Piano Teachers : Case Study of Music Campus for General Public College of Music, Mahidol University

Abstract

This research was aimed at studying the expectation and satisfaction of parents toward
piano teachers using a case study of the music campus for general public college of music,
Mahidol University. The population were the 217 parents of piano students who studied at
beginner or intermediate level at the music campus for general for public college of music,
Mahidol University. The questionnaires were divided into three sections 1) personal data 2)
the expectation and satisfaction of parents 3) open-ended questions and suggestions.
The results of the research revealed that parents have a high degree of expectation and
satisfaction toward the three aspects of piano teachers, those whose mean of expectation was
less than satisfaction were 1) personality 2) music academic knowledge. On the other hand,
the mean of expectation that was much more than the satisfaction was pedagogy.
