The Influence of Business Innovation, Supply Chain Collaboration, and Logistics Service Quality on the Supply Chain Performance of Inter-Hospital Patient Transfers

This research aimed to 1) examine the levels of perceptions toward business innovation, supply chain collaboration, logistics service quality, and supply chain performance and 2) investigate the direct and indirect effects of business innovation, supply chain collaboration, and logistics service quality on the supply chain performance of inter-hospital patient transfer. The population consisted of personnel responsible for inter-hospital patient transfers. A stratified sampling method was employed, resulting in 384 participants, determined based on 20 times the number of parameters and observed variables. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling. The results revealed that business innovation, supply chain collaboration, logistics service quality, and supply chain performance were all at a high level. The results indicated that business innovation, supply chain collaboration, and logistics service quality positively influenced supply chain performance, while supply chain collaboration and logistics service quality served as significant mediating variables. The findings demonstrate that the development of business innovation, the enhancement of supply chain collaboration, and the improvement of logistics service quality are key mechanisms for improving supply chain performance of inter-hospital patient transfers. Integrating these three factors with the application of digital technologies in management and the development of an integrated healthcare service network that enables hospitals across the province to function as a single coordinated healthcare system can enhance the speed, safety, and efficiency of inter-hospital patient transfer processes. This approach can improve the healthcare system’s ability to respond to patients’ medical needs in a more effective and continuous manner and contribute to the long-term improvement of healthcare service quality and operational efficiency.
