Abstract

“Engaging Asia” is a collection of 18 articles that present both study results and analysis. This is the contribution of friends, colleagues, and former students who accompanied on the academic journey with Martin Stuart-Fox, a historian and former foreign correspondent who has devoted more than four decades to studying Southeast Asia. One of his primary focuses is on Lao culture and politics. Desley Goldston, a freelance scholar and former PhD student under Fox's mentorship, serves as editor.
