Rehabilitation and Process of Degraded Forests in Thap Lan National Park, Ban Rat Sub-district, Soeng Sang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province of The Rajapruek Institute Foundation

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the rehabilitation and restoration process of degraded forests in Thap Lan National Park, Ban Rat Sub-district, Soeng Sang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province under the project entitled “Public Development for Forest Restoration in South ISAN of The Rajapruek Institute Foundation”, and 2) to consider participation that affects key factors for successful rehabilitation of degraded forests from the participation of involving parties, qualitative research. Data sources were from exploring related documents, going real sites for observation and conducting in-depth interview relevant parties with 5 people; the Rajapruek Institute Foundation’s officials, head of the project entitled “Public Development for Forest Restoration in South ISAN of The Rajapruek Institute Foundation”, community leaders, school administrators and local villagers. The research instruments are semi-structured interview. Data collected were then analyzed using content analysis and literature review. The results of this research indicated that 1) successful rehabilitation of degraded forests In Thap Lan National Park of The Rajapruek Institute Foundation by forest rehabilitation and development theory of 3 forests, 4 benefits: Is the creation of to grow timber, fruits and firewood. The benefits of being food benefits, a household income source and conservation of soil and watersheds.    2) the participation of the involved parties was at a moderate level. There is participation in the planning. Participate in operations and participation in evaluation but still lacking in participation in receiving benefits.
