The Satisfaction of the Male Prisoners in Mental Development Welfare of the Correction Department : A Case Study of the Khao Bin Central Prison, Ratchaburi Province

Abstract

This study was a study of the Satisfaction of the Male Prisoners in Mental Development Welfare of the Correction Department : A Case Study of the Khao Bin Central Prison, Ratchaburi Province.       The Sample was the male prisoners area 5 in the Khao Bin Central Prison with the systematic sampling, makes 279 peoples. The instrument was the questionnaire of 3 aspect with the equality aspect, the quantitative and qualitative sufficient aspect and the responsible of requirement aspect. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation and content analysis.

            The research found that:

            The sample groups almost was age 36-45 years old 37.30 percent, primary school education 36.60 percent, pre-prisoner general hireling occupation 44.10 percent, pre-prisoner monthly income 4,000 baht or below 35.10 percent, marriage status 60.60 percent, life sentence 59.10 percent.

            The satisfaction of the male prisoner to the mental development welfare in overview was in moderate level with the average was 2.86. Considering each aspect, all aspect satisfied were in moderate level too. The most average in each aspect of the quantitative and qualitative sufficient aspect with the average was 3.16, subordinate of the equality aspect with the average was 3.08 and after that the responsible of requirement aspect with the average was 2.84 as respectively.
