Abstract

The purposes of this research were to develop causal factors model influencing the motivation toward research work of the lecturers in the upper northern Rajabhat universities,

to investigate the correlation of the constructed model with the empirical evidence and to analyze the direct and indirect effects of causal factors model influencing the motivation toward research work of the lecturers in the upper northern Rajabhat universities by using LISREL model. Data collection was completed through 400 lecturers selected by using Stratified Random Sampling from 1,392 lecturers in the upper northern Rajabhat universities. A questionnaire concerning the opinions on the causal factors model influencing the motivation toward research work of the lecturers was used to collect data. The constructed model consisted of 3 latent variables and 14 observed variables. The study was analyzed by LISREL model. The results were as follows:

1. The result of the causal factors model influencing the motivation toward research work of the lecturers indicated that it was in accord with the empirical evidence. The R Square can explain the variance value of the motivation toward the research work was 96%.
2. The most variable effect influencing the motivation variables on the lecturers’ research work were the personal characteristic.
3. The most direct variable effects influencing the variables on the lecturers’ research work motivation were environment characteristic and attitude variables, in respectively.
4. The most indirect variable effects influencing the variables on the lecturers’ research work motivation were the personal characteristic by sending through the research work’s attitude variables.
