THE DOCTRINES IN DHAMMAPADA, STORY OF THERA CAKKHUPALA INFLUENCING THE BELIEFS AND CULTURES FOR APPLYING TO THAI SOCIETY IN MODERN TIMES

Abstract

The study of the doctrines in Dhammapada, story of Thera Cakkhupala influencing the beliefs and cultures for applying to Thai society in Modern times has 3 purposes which are to study 1) the meaning and the importance of the commentary Dhammapada doctrine, 2) dharmic principles in the story of Thera Cakkhupala which influence the beliefs and cultures in Thai society, 3) the guideline for improvising Thai society in Modern times.

As the consequences, 1) the commentary Dhammapada doctrine is the explanation of the Dhamma that the Lord Buddha preached in the form of a short verse to make it easier for all caste and the important model for behavior of people in the Indianized states all around the world; 2) There are 3 dharmic principles in the story of Thera Cakkhupala influening Thai beliefs and cultures which are gods, wishes, and deeds; 3) the dharmic principles can apply to improvise Thai society under intelligence control.
