A STUDY OF BEHAVIORS AND DEVELOPMENT GUIDELINES TOWARDS THE LIFE QUALITY OF ELDERLY ACCORDING TO WELL–BEING PRINCIPLES: A CASE STUDY OF BAN PLABU, NONG SAENG SUB DISTRICT, WAPI PATHUM DISTRICT, MAHASARAKHAM PROVINCE

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to investigate behaviors of the elderly in term of community well-being in community. The target group is aged 60 and over living in Ban Plabu, Nong Saeng, Wapi Pathum, Maha sarakham; totaling 57 people. Research tools were five-ratting scales questionnaires that having alpha coefficient was between 0.72-0.97 and Discriminant Power was between 0.65-0.98, using basic statistics to analyze that including percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Structural interview had the index of item-objective congruence, which was 0.67 in the in-depth interview by using Non-Participant Observation method. An analysis of the data by summary information in overview and distinguished the data type and classification was explained. Research results found that social aspect was at the highest level which the behavior in relation of family members were at the highest level. Secondly, the intellectual aspect was at the high level, which the behavior of hope for success in life at the highest level. Metal aspect was at the high level, which had stress management, was at the highest level and physical aspect was at the high level. In addition, the development guidelines for the life quality are providing a sport club with relaxed atmosphere and suitable fitness equipment for the elderly, calendar of elderly’s activities, an opportunity for the elderly to participate in the community's traditions continuously, welfare assistance for the elderly to cover all aspects, also to support a habit and provide social assistance program for the elderly that gain themselves to realize their self-worth.
