FEMINISM AND GLOBAL SOCIAL MOVEMENT IN #METOO

Abstract

This research article examines the Global Feminism Social Movement in the social media movement through #MeToo addiction. This article aims to (1) study the movement against sexual harassment with #MeToo and (2) analyze the discourse practice of #MeToo. Use a qualitative research methodology and documentary research.

          The results showed that the Global Feminist Social Movement against sexual harassment with millions of #MeToo addicts on social media. It uses a new tactic through discourse or language operations in line with the 4th-wave feminist paradigm that can challenge the traditional norms of patriarchalism. The movement can also release the pressure from the shackles of patriarchy. Furthermore, it can dismantle social relationships to have a more gender balance. #MeToo is also a discourse operative aimed at scrambling for virtual space to create real-world impact. It is also an effort to create global social justice or universal values to change society for the better for all genders.
