Abstract

This participatory action research was aimed to create: 1) a prototype of Tawara-Sap Champa pottery products; 2) a product trademark, labels, and packaging; 3) a souvenir of the prototype pottery products to promote tourism; and 4)an online marketing. Selected by purposive sampling, the target group consisted of 15 people. The research instruments included a survey form, an observation form, a semi-structured interview and a questionnaire on the pottery products with the content validity from 0.60 to 1.00. Collected by using site survey, group meetings, knowledge sharing, technology transfer, and an appropriateness evaluation form, data were analyzed in terms of mean and standard deviation. Results revealed that overall, each research activity was rated as highly appropriate including: 1) a prototype of the Tawara-Sap Champa pottery product was created in five different designs; 2) the product trademark labels, and packaging of the Sap Champa pottery products were created; 3) the souvenir of the prototype pottery products was created to promote tourism; and 4) online marketing was established through two media channels. This research shows that there has been a clear driving force for developing the production of pottery products in the area. Recommendations to ensure sustainable operations to truly strengthen the area are provided. There should also be support for ongoing operations and continuous monitoring and evaluation of the project.
