บทคัดย่อ
งานวิจัยนี้เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงบรรยาย มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาเอกลักษณ์ของการเชิดสิงโตแบบปีระกา การวิเคราะห์ความหมายลีลาท่วงท่าในชุดการแสดงงานมงคลและเทศกาลสำคัญ และการศึกษาที่มาของความเชื่อและคุณลักษณะของสิงโตแบบปีระกา คณะสิงห์โตหิน ลูกเจ้าพ่อเขาตกในประเทศไทย ใช้วิธีดำเนินการวิจัยเริ่มจากการสัมภาษณ์แบบเชิงลึก โดยแบ่งกลุ่มสัมภาษณ์แบบกลุ่มตัวอย่างหลักและกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้อง จากนั้นจึงเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลที่ได้รับและวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยการจำแนกประเภทตามกลุ่มข้อมูล จากการศึกษาพบว่า การเชิดสิงโตแบบปีระกาได้รับการถ่ายทอดในคณะสิงห์โตหินลูกเจ้าพ่อเขาตกเพียงคณะเดียวในประเทศไทย มีเอกลักษณ์ทั้งในด้านลีลาท่าทาง ชุดการแสดง จังหวะดนตรีและลักษณะของสิงโต โดยสามารถประกอบเป็นชุดการแสดงใหญ่ 5 ชุดการแสดง ประกอบด้วย ชุดการแสดงสิงโตออกลูก ชุดการแสดงสิงโตกินผักชายคลอง ชุดการแสดงซุ้มประตูอวยพรประทานสวรรค์ ชุดการแสดงประตูกลอวยพร และชุดการแสดงเชิดสิงโตอวยพรทั่วไป โดยมีคำอวยพรและความหมายที่ลึกซึ้งถ่ายทอดผ่านอากัปกิริยา สีหน้าท่าทาง เรื่องราวที่ถ่ายทอด รวมไปถึงอุปกรณ์ที่ใช้ในการแสดง นอกจากนี้ ความเชื่อและคุณลักษณะของการเชิดสิงโตแบบปีระกา ยังสามารถแบ่งออกได้ตามลักษณะสีของสิงโตและธรรมเนียมข้อห้ามการแสดงอีกด้วย
