The Journal of Science and Science Education or JSSE, ISSN 2586-9256 (Print) and ISSN 2697-410X (Online), is hosted by the Faculty of Science, Ubon Ratchathani University. It aims to be a platform for publishing research and academics including review articles in science and science education. A manuscript that has never been published in other journals, can be prepared either in Thai or English. It should comprise interesting content and deliver modern knowledge or novelty. All submitted manuscripts have to undergo a double-blind peer review process before publishing. The manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by at least  3 reviewers from various institutions.

The JSSE is categorized as follows: main subject category is in social sciences,  subject areas is in social sciences, and sub-subject is in Education. In addition, the JSSE also comprises four Sub-subjects under Physical Sciences, including general chemistry, general computer, general mathematics, and physics & astronomy.

The JSSE is scheduled to publish 2 issues per year: No. 1 (January - June) and No. 2 (July - December).

Publication Charge

A processing charge (APC) of 1500 Baht/article has been announced by JSSE, which will be charged for a submitted manuscript before sending the manuscript to the review process from Jan 2023 onwards. This fee will be charged once the manuscript meets the basic criteria of JSSE.

***The author(s) from the Faculty of Science, Ubon Ratchathani University, either first author or corresponding author, can submit the APC waiver form for consideration of APC waiving by the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Ubon Ratchathani University.

This payment does not guarantee that the manuscript will be accepted for publication. The manuscript will undergo the review process as usual.

The "USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TOOLS" has been added to the JSSE manuscript template.

2025-09-29

Authors must clearly indicate whether artificial intelligence (AI) tools were employed in the research process or manuscript preparation, and specify their role. The use of AI tools is permitted at an appropriate and transparent level under the following guidelines:

  1. Role of AI
AI may be applied for technical support (e.g., spell-checking, grammar correction, improving language clarity, formatting references) or for preliminary analyses (e.g., data processing, partial coding, generating graphs, extracting information from large documents). AI must not be used to generate research data, fabricate experimental results, or replace the author’s scholarly interpretation.

  2. Author Responsibility
Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, validity, and integrity of all data, analyses, and conclusions. Any outputs from AI tools must be verified for correctness, completeness, and appropriateness before inclusion in the manuscript.

  3. Disclosure
The use of AI tools must be transparently disclosed in the Acknowledgement or Methods section, specifying the tools used and their purpose (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly, Gemini). AI tools must not be listed as authors but may be acknowledged as “tools used.”

  4. Ethical and Copyright Considerations
Authors must avoid using AI to generate text or images that infringe copyright, produce misleading or fabricated data, or misrepresent research findings.
